"Decided the night before to head to the Crowsnest. Weather was okay. We had some usual southern AB winds and a little precip here and there, but nothing terrible. I spent a part of the day wondering whether to put on my outer layer of pants because of the wind up high, but never actually froze with just one layer. We didn't want to bring snowshoes and it's not truly worth it. We did some postholing but avoided a lot of snow too. Wedge Mountain is not hard and it's fun to just walk along the spine of the ridge. A big rugged at the beginning with some steeper terrain, then just ridgewalking. It's a bit scrambly. Interesting touch with the big cross on top - maybe we should have done this on Easter weekend...? All in all another good day in the mountains and a scenic drive." — leigh-annewebster • Apr 13, 2019
"We parked at the south of the mountain and walked around to hike up the east slopes, then came back down the south ridge. The south ridge was a much nicer route. Total trip took just under three hours, ascent was 445m. To ascend the south ridge, from the cattle guard at end of the south ridge, start at the cairn (see picture), and simply follow the ridge up. Very nice views of the area from the summit." — Jesse • Aug 17, 2017
"From McGillivray Creek road we drove up the road below the hydro lines to the creek where we started Hiking. Across the creek we found the trail leading up on the left (North). We followed the trail straight up along the ridge to the summit. We came back down the same route." — yantski • Aug 27, 2006
