"Went for a quick day hike while in the Calgary/Banf area. Wanted something short with that unique mountain and prairie view. This definitely fit the bill. An easy scramble with a bit of exposure to spice things up. The wind chill was definitely the hardest part. Spent an hour at the summit despite this, enjoying the great views and our lunch. I was quite surprised by the lack of snow. We were on dry rock the whole way up. " — PabloBruneau • Dec 5, 2020
"This was done as part of a 3 peak traverse starting at West baldy. Then going to South Baldy and then going to North Baldy (this one). The section of ridge between South and North baldy was probably my favorite part of this hike. The scramble going up onto North baldy is quite fun. The scrambling coming off of North baldy is also super fun. " — Slogenstein • Jul 11, 2020
"Summited with Corbin during the three summit traverse of baldy. We ascended this side and descended in the gully between the west and south summits of Baldy. A common scramblers route, it took us 4 and a half hours round trip. Then we decided since we had banked on a potentially 8 hour trip to go to Canmore and hit up Ha Ling. " — TBird • Aug 20, 2016
"Climbed up the Northern most peak, which I believe is the true summit. Down climbed towards the second peak in the loop, but then just descended into the main gully due to time constraints, and joined up with the regular descent path." — matt-robinson • Mar 27, 2016
"After summiting Mount Lady MacDonald and Ha Ling Peak the previous day, four members of the University of Alberta Outdoors Club decided to tackle Mount Baldy and Baldy South before heading back to Edmonton. Weather and trail conditions were favourable." — Steven-Noel • May 24, 2015
"A quick trip for training. Temperature about +10c all day with some cloud and light wind. Stayed on the ridge all the way. The crux seems to be much easier than it was just a few months ago- some rock may have been removed. 1h50m to go up and 50m down. Personal best time up for both of us. Elevation gain for the trip 800m, YTD elevation gain 46405m. Wow- 75 summits for me so far this year... just 25 to go by the end of December.. piece of cake!" — MtnJohn • Sep 3, 2012
"I was planning for Opal Ridge, but when I got there, it looked quite cloudy and I thought Mt.Baldy would have a better chance to stay a bit sunnier, so back I went. Very few on the mountain and I think I was the only one to summit. Mostly sunny, about +6c and a wind around 30k. Great views in spite of the clouds. Elevation gain for the trip 800m, YTD elevation gain 21166m.

"What a day! Darren just "had" to do this one. At least -30c with the wind chill. By far, the coldest trip I have ever done. It was nice to get back to tree line. not much snow to deal with- the wind took care of that. Temperature of -23c at the trail head and about 20kph wind. Only -17c on the summit with about 50kph wind. No crowds, no bugs! Stayed about 1 minute at the summit. Elevation gain for the trip 800m, YTD elevation gain 44407m." — MtnJohn • Nov 19, 2011
"Quite a few cars at the trail head, but not crowded for such a nice day. A good breeze to keep bugs away and keep us cool. Jim caught up to me at the couch, we had a break then the last I saw of him was as he went up the rocks behind it. The ridge has some very nice short scrambles. Finally caught up to him at the summit. Elevation gain for the trip 800m, YTD elevation gain 23055m." — MtnJohn • Jun 25, 2011
"Just may be my favorite. A personal best for speed here. 1h50m to go up and 1h down. Lots of sun and no wind. Very little snow to deal with. Jim, Myself, and some 40 other hikers. Elevation gain for the trip 700m, YTD elevation gain 19584m." — MtnJohn • May 21, 2011
