"Mount Nelson has been on my list since 2016 when I busted some vertebrae at the Panorama ski hill and was taken down on a spinal board behind a skidoo. I recall looking up at Nelson and thinking "what a cool looking peak, I should scramble that some day". With some expert guiding and route-finding from Rob, it was time to summit this sucker.
The ascent is divided into three parts:
1. An intensely steep grind up a reasonably good trail to the tree-line
2. A more gradual ascent via a high valley
3. An interesting scramble through scree and rock bands to reach the summit
Despite some smoke in all other directions, were were lucky to have clear views into the mountains on the west." — geoffhardy • Sep 5, 2021
"Using my GPS track please be aware (West ridge we took on the way up is a climbers scramble! with two low 5 class sections) if you are not confident with climbing use for your way up our descent route which is normal scrambling route to this mountain." — MikaM • Aug 1, 2020
