"Today was an AWESOME day on Grizzly peak. Less views than normal but the cloud inversion was awesome. I kept popping up in and out of clouds. Great time. The route itself is pretty straight forward in my opinion and hard to get lost. There is only one section you need to scramble and its easy. You go around the south side of the mountain up to the col for Grizzly and Evan-thomas. From there its a short hike to the summit. " — Slogenstein • Oct 24, 2021
"Wanted to go down the Powderface road to go hiking but it was closed for rally car racing. A quick B plan had us come here. Windy from the col up to the summit. Summit surprisingly less windy but still cold." — Randy • Oct 2, 2021
"Followed the standard route up until melting snow and falling rock pushed us away from the cliff bands along the usual traverse. We traversed much lower and ascended a grassy hill in much greater safety." — matt-robinson • Mar 20, 2016
"First summit since moving to Calgary from Ontario in August 2013! Wonderful day out. I didn't even know what scrambling was and it was very exciting for me to learn that there are non-technical ways to ascend mountains!" — lizimhof • Sep 21, 2013
"A perfect fall day, complete with a few clouds and a gusting wind at the summit. Darren and Myself- tried a couple of chutes up the rocks, before working our way across to near the proper trail below the summit ridge. Good exercise and fun even if it was to no avail! Great views from the summit. Mount Evan-Thomas still has a strong pull, maybe next summer. Total of 5 hours on the trail, including at least 1 hour of 'playing' in the rocks. Elevation gain for the peak 1225m, YTD elevation gain 54658m." — MtnJohn • Oct 1, 2012
"Summitted in winter conditions. Definitely needed crampons as the snow was so stiff and steep on some parts. This is an easy scramble in the summer but the stiff snow can turn you around if you don't have the proper gear. Also, if you do this in winter, bring an ice axe for sure ! and check avi conditions always." — dkmountainman • Dec 22, 2010
