"22.33km with 1,144m gain in 6:50hrs return.
Early start for Sir Douglas, supposed to be a blue-bird day... Got rain in the lower valley and whiteouts higher up. Ended up with Zeke's Peak." — alexp • May 16, 2020
"Rain delayed our start by over 2 hours. We then got lost a few hundred meters up the west ridge and had to backtrack quite a bit to find the best way up. One party member banged up his knee pretty bad, and we had to call it 150m from the top because we ran out of time. A good thing we turned back then because we had a stuck rope lower down that wasted a bunch more time. This one hurt to turn around so close but that's how it goes. The hike out was absolutely brutal with no summit stoke to carry us back. Glad we still have all of our teeth " — jakefinnan • Aug 24, 2019
"On Saturday May 5th we skied from the Burstall Pass trailhead to the flats atop the spur just south of Whistling Rock Peak. We considered descending onto the glacier to shorten our summit day but couldn't see an area that would be safe from all the sloughing that was going on late in the day. Sunday morning we were up early melting snow for breakfast and left camp at 5 am. We climbed with skis strapped to our packs up the lower portion of the glacier and left them there to be used on the descent. Snow conditions were good on the face. The crux of the climb was a rappel to get from one gully to the next which was difficult to protect. We backed up the rappel with a belay from both ends and left the rappel rope in place to aid climbing back up on the descent. The rest of the climb was simply kicking steps up the 50 degree face. Total time for the summit day: camp to summit to camp to parking lot including breaks was 17 hours." — MichaelDyck • May 6, 2018
"bivied at toe of glacier (~4.5hr from car via up/over the hill/shoulder), 7hrs bivi-bivi with ascent/descent on NW Face Direct route (IV)... we feel that the faster and safer than the West Ridge route" — Bazehead • Aug 20, 2011
