"Ascended Jumpingpound Mountain in 1h 15m, attempted to summit Moose Mountain proper, but turned around at North Peak due to high winds and time constraint (ran out of day light)." — yuri • Nov 15, 2020
"26.3km with 1550m gain in 8:40hrs return. Fully (but easy) alpine conditions. Should've still brought a bike for the approach (5km on a road).
Viz was on and off in the morning; and non-existent in the afternoon. Descent off SW peak is tricky when wet (and should be fun when dry)." — alexp • Oct 14, 2019
"Unfortunately I lost all the original pics from this trip. Tried this one with the kids. It was suuuuuper hot outside and the kids were too bagged from the heat to carry on to the summit." — Slogenstein • Aug 25, 2018
"Decided to get out for some exercise and do a lap on Moose. A good outing with some wind. The trail was mostly packed snow with a bit of ice. I used microspikes coming down off the summit." — BertB • Nov 25, 2017
"Mistook the trail head and went west instead of north. Then headed north through the woods before regaining the main trail. Note to head right out of the car parking lot to get the main trail. On the way up we detoured to take a few pictures of the spot where Jake Gyllenhaal lay in the movie Brokeback Mountain. A great day with a chat to the fire lookout warden who was happy to see us and then thunder on the way back. " — MarkJPerkins • May 29, 2017
"But yesterday and my third mountain of the week was Moose Mountain. It took me 3 and a half hours to cover just over 15 KM and 768 Meters of elevation gain. It was a nice hike but a quick one." — TBird • Jul 22, 2016
"Finally the road up to the trailhead opened up this morning, which allowed for us get a reasonable shot at the summit. Nice bit of snow on the trail which later on in the day became a series of puddles! Overall great views and a nice hike. " — snowsurfer • May 15, 2016
"Summitted it as a part of Moose Mnt. - North Peak of Moose Mnt. - Mt. Jumpingpound - Cox Hill Traverse in the calf-deep snow. The depth of snow dramatically increased past the summit." — Taras • May 26, 2013
"This was my first and most likely last moonlight scramble. While it was bright enough to make most of the distance without a headlamp, I did use one for the final approach to the summit. Joined up with a group of 7 from the Calgary Scrambling and Mountaineering Club to complete the round trip in 6 hours. Photo opportunities were limited to the beginning and end of the scramble and as such I did not get an chance to shoot the much anticipated moonlight over snow capped mountain photos." — Mountainman • Nov 24, 2012
"Supposed to be a relaxing trip after Mount Rae the day before... ended up with a personal best time of 1h50m, nothing great, but worth writing home about, as no one else in the immediate family could do it! A perfect fall day. Randy, Kati, Myself. A busy trail, but not crowded at the summit. Elevation gain for the day 650m, YTD elevation gain 48905m." — MtnJohn • Sep 16, 2012
