"Camped at Forks. Made a lot of sense to go up this peak. While the view was good, the outing was pretty crappy. Not a fun "scramble". Also it's rated difficult but is definitely moderate at most, used my poles the whole time. Lots of steep, but never difficult. Got creative on descent and linked up nice scree and avoided the worst of the loose steeps, but added sidehilling instead. Better to go down than expected. Can't say I'd recommend this one for any reason other than the view. One of my least favs so far unfortunately. " — jakefinnan • Jul 24, 2021
"Kinda got skunked on this one last year, so it was nice to seek redemption. We took the direct route described in Kane's book. Not much to say about it other than that it was a very steep and tedious ascent on rubble and ledges. The only fun was the few minutes at the end along the summit ridge. We had a fairly smoky day, so it obscured some of the views but we could see Joffre, Kingy G, and Sir Dougy. We ascended from a camp at Forks with intention to go up Lyautey the following day, but after this grunt we decided that the whisky tasted better than waking up early again :) " — hollywilliams • Jul 24, 2021
"After hiking up to Three Isle Lake from Forks and getting setup, we ascended above the Three Isle Lake campground through some light bushwhacking to the SW slopes of what I believe is named Three Isle Mountain. Traversed through some loose scree around to the south slopes of Kane's ascent. Dogged it up to the summit where I met some other scramblers who beat me to the first ascent of Putnik for the year by only a few minutes. Weather was pretty cold and blustery. Took in the view of Northover Ridge which we had planned to cross, but balked at the amount of snow still present. Admired the sparsely filled logbook that had been there since 1987, including Kane and Nugara's names, amongst others. Descended quickly the same way back to the lake due to the large amount of scree. " — MarkJPerkins • Jul 15, 2020

Went up from Three Isle and down along the South east ridge heading skier right to avoid the cliffs with some bushwhacking before getting back on the trail" — StephChamp • Jul 6, 2017
"Bike approach and up drainage to SW between peak to W, and circuitous route to summit, not the now standard scrambling route, with J. Skvaril. Went back three weeks later with A. Kane and A. Riggs to find better route." — KrisT • Jul 5, 2002
