"Fantastic 3 summits day. Difficult scramble. Ascended McLaren in the clouds. Sky cleared out soon after. Loose Andy Good slabs and exposed/crumbly ridge between Andy Good and Coulthard require to be very cautious. " — MikaM • Jul 26, 2025
"Went out solo to the Crowsnest and had a great day, albeit very HOT. I drank a lot of water. I had thought about adding on McLaren, but I wouldn't have had the energy with the heat. Lots of quadders and dirt bikers were out in the afternoon, but the morning when I started was quiet. The Sinister 7 was also on today and I could tell that numerous participants were not enjoying the heat." — leigh-annewebster • Jul 12, 2025
"Bagged Coulthard during a recon for a backpacking trip later in July. We started from the firebreak road trailhead for Mount Sentry and skirted around to the saddle of McLaren/Parrish. We dropped over the saddle into plane crash and peaked Coulthard the following morning." — James-M • Jul 1, 2018
"At $1000 this is now officially the most expensive peak I've summited. After camping overnight at the RCAF crash site with cyclone blender winds, I enjoyed a nice leisurely breakfast Saturday morning followed by a gentle ascent to the summit. Accidentally ascending the wrong col and ending up between Andy Good and Parrish, I had to side slope over to the center col where I then followed the correct route up to Coulthard. After heavy blasts of wind the previous night it turned out to be an absolutely gorgeous day to ascend this peak with light gentle breezes, lots of sun, blue skys and large fluffly cumulus clouds. Enjoyed a nice long break on the summit with fantastic 360 degree views from the summit including looking almost directly down on the Ironstone Fire Lookout on Willoughby Ridge. Installed a new summit post using one of two pieces of steel piping that were sitting beside the cairn. Located a tiny and somewhat wet registry that had been left by the ACC. Without pen or pencil though it was impossible to leave an entry." — Mountainman • Aug 17, 2013
