"We ascended the Raven from the Echo Bay turn off from Northshore Rd. We made this a loop hike to include The Paragon, The Phoenix, Peak 3667, Fire Junior, Fire Benchmark and Peak 2759....7 peaks. The route was pretty intuitive. After getting through a couple of the sections and looking back I could see that there may be better ways than the way we did. Parts of the descent route we took from Fire Benchmark could use some modification. There was way too much loose and steep terrain that I think some could be by-passed through alternate routes. Overall, I think this loop is well worth experiencing....especially the views. " — Heartattackbruce • Mar 5, 2023
"3.12.2022~The Raven, The Paragon, The Phoenix, 3,667’, Fire Junior, Fire Benchmark, 2,759’ & every lump in between, CW loop extravaganza. 8 miles, 4,000’ gain in 6:35hrs w/Erica & Kevin. Kevin invited me along and I couldn’t resist repeating this route. We tweaked it a little adding harder ascents and descents here and there along the way. Kevin added the registers. We modified my descent from Fire BM & took a ridge Down, to some points of interest, instead of the sloppy canyon I usually use. I always enjoy being in this rugged area of the Eastern Muddy Mtns. Good challenging hard work. Great day.

"2.28.2022~Farewell to February Foray~The Raven, 3,549’, The Phoenix, 3,667’, Fire Jr., Fire Benchmark (and every lump in between) CW Loop. 9 miles, 4,000’ gain in 6:52hrs in the Eastern Muddy Mountains, NV. Using Stav’s map of his ascent of The Raven ( thank you, www.stavislost.com , check it out for his amazing mountain trips) I drew a track of this loop in the hopes to do it with Kevin last Sat. I didn’t sleep well and cancelled, so today I thought to test it out. It went well. I made it a light/less risky version in some areas since I was alone but it still had tons of fun class 3 & such. I don’t know if this particular circuit has been done but I highly recommend. It’s rough country with grand views of the Valley of Fire and the Overton arm of Lake Mead. I trashed my new trail running shoes on the sharp volcanic terrain. Goodbye February, Welcome March." — paula.raimondi • Feb 28, 2022
"I saw that the temps were supposed to be cooler for a few days & decided to take advantage & head out to my favorite place to camp & hike & paint for a couple of days. I drove out after work on Monday afternoon & camped in the foothills. Woke up early Tuesday & headed out to try a route I had been meaning to hike before all the insanity hit. I had no idea if it would go, but it did! It was extremely steep, gaining almost 1500 feet in about a half mile. I wanted to see if I could access some peaks this way. The route is a bit hidden & entirely shady. It was a nice climb. I camped to the west & hiked up the north gully below Fire Benchmark. One could use this route to access Fire Benchmark as well. I'll be back for some of the other peaks. It got very windy as the day went on, but it was just so nice to be out away from news, social media, etc. Everything is still very green & there are lots of flowers. I camped again & hiked up a little peak on Wednesday morning. Made a bunch of watercolor sketches over the trip. I love this area & usually save it for spring. I was bummed that I couldn't go this year with everything happening, so it was just so great to get a little time out there." — StudioHoodoo • May 12, 2020
