"TR and Condition report on Rocky Gap Road out of Willow Springs. My 56x up Bridge. I normally avoid this road unless required by expediency. I used to drive up here in a 2003 Subaru with 7 inches clearance, aided by the narrowness of that vehicle. Since then, one section has gotten better and two have gotten worse. The section bigRocksInRoad (right after 1st wash) and BadRedHill are worse. The OldBadSpot, where a stream sometimes crosses, is better. We saw several Pink Jeeps turn around at Park4NorthPeak at 2.4 miles up – they used to turn around below that.

"Finally did bridge and it was awesome
Solid friction scrambling and a nice spooky ledge after going over the bridge at the end
If you want yoga the easy way you can follow my track, but it seems like the fun way is up through pine creek canyon as evidenced by the comments in the register

"My 55th time up Bridge. This is a safe peak for me, when I am recovering from medical issues. I was about 5% slower than before COVID devastated me and scarred my lungs, but I wasn't trying to rush and looked for "experimental" route changes (see pictures).
I drove up to the turn-around at 5800 feet; one spot about 200 feet from the parking (in a depression/stream crossing) is a lot worse than a year back. 4x4 HC recommended." — hwstock • May 1, 2023
"4.27.23~Bridge Mtn #27. 6 miles, 3,000’ gain in 4:05hrs. Up in 2:15hrs, :18m on top, down in 1:32hrs. Laszlo generously offered me a ride to MM 2.25 on Rocky gap from Willow springs when I told him I planned on a Thursday Summit. We hiked the start together and he went on to nearby Sandstone north peak while I did a hard effort Bridge. He was able to snap a photo of me on the summit (from his summit) when I texted him at the top. Super warm with nary a breeze. " — paula.raimondi • Apr 27, 2023
"4.21.23~Bridge mtn #26. 13 miles, 4,000’ gain in 5:44hr RT. Out and back from Lovell Canyon. It’s been a while. 14 months to be exact. Didn’t feel as strong. I rarely do big gain or miles since I work full time. I was still relatively fast. Felt good to work hard in the mtns again. Stunt planes were zooming thru the canyons. It was Warm and sunny." — paula.raimondi • Apr 21, 2023
"Bridge Mtn 360° Route. High temp at the peak was 37°. A very cold May Day. We saw some snow flurries over Charleston and got drizzled on during descent. Great route & hike. Obviously the stats are way off on this track; should be about 4k ft elevation and around 10 miles. " — DudeAlmighty • May 11, 2022
"2.9.2022~Slay Wednesday! Bridge Mtn #25, 2nd time in 2 days. 11 miles, 4,000’ gain in 4:29 hrs Round Trip, including :06 mins on top and brief stops to take cactus needles out of my foot and to switch out water bottles. A Personal Record for me from Willow Springs Picnic Area. I didn’t make the pace too uncomfortable, just steady with minimal breaks. Comfortable weather. I consumed 1.5 liters of water and 300 calories along the way. I feel good about today. I was strong charging uphill. Surfing up and down the Aztec sandstone was divine. I didn’t want it to end. This Mountain is very special to me and draws me back and fills my mind with great memories. I use to hike to a ridge nearby and stare at it with fear & wonder. I never thought I’d have the courage to climb it. Now it’s my workout playground.

"2.7.2022~ Monday Slay. Bridge Mtn #24 from Willow Springs Picnic Area. 11 miles, 4,000’ gain in 5:05hrs Round Trip including :30 min break on top and a wrong turn on the final ascent ledge. I wasn’t paying attention, headed up too soon and ended up on a higher ledge (on the final ascent dome) It got narrow & extra creepy so I retreated and got down to the “normal” creepy ledge. There was some ice and snow along the way but none that made it unsafe. Great Day! I got my moneyz worth of fun for a 2$ Red Rock rez fee. I consumed 1.5 liters of water and one applesauce pouch.

"4.18.2021~Bridge Mtn #23 w/Frances! 12 miles, 4,200’ gain, 6:56hrs (including 1hr or so of breaks to enjoy the views) Frances asked if I’d join her for her 1st Bridge and I was honored to lead the way. She’s strong, fearless and fun to hike with. We were efficient and steady and took on the route with vigor. Great day! I haven’t been on top in a while. Felt good! " — paula.raimondi • Apr 18, 2021
"9.9.2020~Bridge Mtn #22. Solo. 15 mile loop, 6,000’ gain, 7:28hrs (9 miles of scrambling, 6 miles of road running). I took advantage of the cool temps to get this route goal off my “to do” list. I used the Pine Creek/Fern Canyon ascent route, for my 1st time, which is stunningly difficult to navigate. Wrong turns had me in thick sharp brush and some poisonous plants made my legs burn. The bouldering and sustained scrambling were relentless and the terrain unforgiving. I had no Guide and did it all on my own. Many sections were terrifying. I never really get use to slabs and exposure. These canyons are my kryptonite and I find them very intense, especially because I’m alone...It brings out my insecurities and vulnerability. I live for the challenge of fighting off these feelings. I find it completely satisfying to face them and then cast them away. This day was a win but it took all of my will not to give up and turn back, like so many times before. It required immense courage and physical strength to claw my way up the matrix to King Bridge! The sandstone was divine.
