"Started off with a rainy morning this Tuesday Jan 18th 2020. Had plans to hike in Red Rock but changed to this awesome loop for the weather. We had low hanging clouds throughout the day that kept us cool and made for some great pictures. Iron Cross (The King) to the Queen to the Jack to Quo Vadis and White Gold 7. Descended the scree on the north side of White Gold 7 to finish this loop in under 6 miles. Awesome peaks all around, two thumbs up. Would do it again! " — DudeAlmighty • Jan 18, 2022
"What a day! There was an 80% chance of rain, but I still wanted to get out. I asked Paula if she was interested in hiking in the rain & she agreed (on her birthday!). Her and Harlan met me at the trailhead at 8am and we set off for Iron Cross Peak (The King). I was slow moving up the hill, due to a problem with my calf, but eventually topped out. The winds were horrendous, so we kept moving, hitting The Queen, The Jack, Quo Vadis, then finally White Gold #7. We split up (accidentally) for the return trip, but everyone made it back safe. There wasn't too much rain, but the wind was seriously unbearable. Today was full of internal struggle, but we pushed on!" — Kevin • Feb 2, 2019
"2.2.19. 5.1 Peaks in 51 MPH wind on my 51st Bday w/ Kevin Humes & Harlan Stockman. 7 miles, 2,500’ gain bagging the cluster of “Chess Board” peaks on the top of ‘Ho’ Ridge. These peaks on the edge of town are surprisingly spectacular. King, Queen, Jack, Quo Vadis (mini Quo Vadis) and White Gold #7. It was hard and the wind made me want to cry but we endured. Highest winds I’ve ever hiked in. It threw me around like a rag doll. I suspect it was in the 60MPH range. Great way to celebrate Ground Hog Day." — paula.raimondi • Feb 2, 2019
"I finally bagged all 5 peaks of this cluster of mtns. I headed straight for Quo Vadis (and its several peaklets) then I decided to get more of a workout and cruse the ridges for a few more peaks on the way back. White Gold #7, Queen and Iron Cross (King) for a 4+ peak day. 6 mile loop with 1,900' gain. Chilly, windy with sunshowers, rainbows and guns going off in the distance. Curious bighorns watched my trek from below in the canyons. " — paula.raimondi • Jan 14, 2017
"Solo hikers club reconvened for a 3.5 peak ridge hike to celebrate NYE. Iron Cross (Aka King), Queen, White Gold #7 and a grey lump on the way back in were the Peaks Dejour. It was a cluster of peaks close to home. Another hiker saw a lost dog near the 1st peak and I spotted it too but wasn't able to get to it. Sad that he was lost out there or abandoned. Lonely gloomy hike. " — paula.raimondi • Dec 31, 2016
