"Feli, Kate, Shannon and I did a bike and hike day. Weather held until the ride out! Views were spectacular! We rode to Blueberry and avoided some bushwhacking. 6.5hrs plus 30-40 minutes at the summit!" — leigh-annewebster • Jun 3, 2023
"Had to pick a shorter objective today, and this fit perfect. Lots of snow in trees above 1900m and more still the alpine. Watched some wet loose slides from mt foch. Excellent views." — ken_hercules • Jun 26, 2022
"Rawson Lake Ridge & The Turret are two shorter trips that never seemed to justify the drive out there, but they both start at Upper Kananaskis Lake and make a fun combo when done together. Both of these peaks are much lower than the surrounding peaks and had the advantage of being dry and somewhat sheltered from the howling SW winds by nearby Mt Foch & Sarrail.
The route up to Rawson Lake was quiet on the way up, but busier than a Tim Hortons drive-through on the way down. The ridge has a short rock band which was fun to scramble through on the way to the summit, and then a bushwhack back down to to the trail.
The route up to The Turret is mostly bushwhacking to the treeline, with some sections on a faint trail and some on the Blueberry Hill trail. Once at treeline we side-hilled through krummholz to up to the Foch-Turret col and followed the ridge to the summit. On the way down, we took a more direct route back down and then bushwhacked our way back to the Elk Pass trail." — geoffhardy • Oct 3, 2021
"Still lots of snow, spent most of the day bushwhacking on mainly supportive snow. Had it easy following a group of six’s tracks. Ran into the group and they didn’t quite make the summit. I pushed on scrambled a little then a few kick steps up through some trees and around to get to some dry rock and up. Had to cross the snow patch and triggered a slide that went for about 150 meters." — Randy • Jun 10, 2020
"Another one for the Liz list.
Got a late start and missed the worst of the wet bush and snow. Took the ski trails up from Elk Pass(recommended) and straight down to Upper Kananasksis Lakes Parking lot on the way down (pretty thick in spots). Nice view. Easy "moderate".
Wait till it was dry.
Was nice to meet some friends on the hill.
Another one for Liz's list!" — mike_rogers81 • Aug 17, 2019
"It was a snowy day but we made it up. Saw a great big moose family in the parking lot. Didn't get much in terms of views, but it was a good day. Alex, you may think of this as "Future-proofing". ;)" — BertB • Oct 8, 2016
"approached via Blueberry Hill trail then to col between Foch and Turret. Followed ridge to SE ridge of Foch and Unnamed GR318039 trying to get to Foch but pinnacles further on the ridge turned us back. (Kananaskis Lakes trails were closed due to Grizzly activity so couldn't do normal route on Foch.) Did Turret on descent, had beers on summit. " — KrisT • Aug 27, 1997
