"we did a traverse of the Castle Mountain massif, starting on the north side on Protection mountain, keeping to the ridge to Television Peak via the moderate NW ridge, descending the NE ridge to a minor col, to follow the broad ridge (two local highpoints) to Stuart Knob. From there we descend W of SK to the true summit of Castle mountian, the North summit. While the plan was to then tag Helena Ridge, we agreed we had had a full day, and descended directly to Rockbound Lake. A fantastic long day, with some snow on TV peak keeping things interesting." — apfelstrudel • Sep 1, 2018
"Epic day with Simon, Roland and Dave doing a big traverse out by Castle. We started bright and early at 6 A.M. on the trail and got back around 7 P.M. to Rockbound Lake. We took two vehicles and shuttled back to the starting point, which was the trail up to the mine on Protection. We ascended the ridge and kept going to TV Peak and then onward to Stuart Knob and North Castle. It got spicy with all the snow along the moderate(ly exposed) ridge, but I lived to tell and to get my 112th and 113th Kane peaks. Because it poured rain in the morning on the drive out we had a bit of snow to contend with. It was also windy and colder than I would have liked. Still a good day and I am tired, especially after doing Fullerton on Thursday too." — leigh-annewebster • Sep 1, 2018
"Part of Protection - TV - Stuart Knob - Castle North - Castle a 12 hr 31km traverse with Gerry. Really nice traverse. Out Rockbound Lake trail should only be done on skis ;}

"From rockbound lake.
We had the whole day to ourselves. Good travel until the north castle/stuart knob col. This was snowy and protected by a large cornice. There was evidence of recent cornice breaking, so downslope of the col was no place to linger. We gained the col at a spot where the cornice had broken. A few kick steps in steep snow and we were free.
Summit block was snow free." — mike_rogers81 • Jun 29, 2018
"Protection Mtn / TV Peak, Stuart Knob, Castle Mtn North, Helena Ridge traverse; 32.5km / 12 hrs workout.
Lots clouds and poor visibility (no views at all) but a very good training" — alexp • Aug 16, 2014
