"The ski up was good, but snow on the ridge was thin. Tough to avoid contact with rock - I don’t want to look at my edges yet. We skied down the west slope for a few nice turns. Much of the north side was facets to ground. With the sun shining, this was a great day to get after something mellow. " — ivo • Jan 5, 2025

"Another cloudy spring weekend. I can't seem to get those high pressure days these spring. :( The last great high pressure day was the day after I got my Covid Jab...so low energy.
Anyway, weak freeze below treeline. Rain in the valley. I wasn't too inspired to get out. We started around 11....
Went up the ski out and the green run on Wawa. Followed wawa ridge towards twin cairns and ascended the north east ridge. Pretty easy going. We had an enjoyable ridge walk from the false to true summit.
Walked back along the ridge to the false summit and skied down the east/north east slopes. Entered the resort between the wawa and standish areas and skied the "waterfall" run to the ski out.
We had a couple of pockets of boot-top "powder" on twin carins, but it was mostly 10 cm of cream on top of a firm base. The ski out has great coverage.
The clouds were in and out, and the views were pretty nice. It was great to be so close to The Monarch...what a beaut!. Better day than expected. Happy to stretch the legs. With better vis, there should be some more interesting lines of the summit.
Snow was stable in the alpine. Some areas at treeline had a soft crust under mush....we wer..." — mike_rogers81 • May 9, 2021

"Avalanche forecast at considerable across the board due to solar heating. Hence we took advantage of daylight savings time to get up stupid early and make this a fast one. Perfect conditions. Used ski crampons on the NE ridge ascent, good snow on the North face." — apfelstrudel • Mar 14, 2021

"Good ski touring objective. Avi danger can be substantially minimized with some routefinding.
One member of our group had problems with the rental gear (a typical story), so we were moving slowly. Otherwise, it was a great spring day out." — Taras • Mar 13, 2021

"We skinned up the road, then visited a few higher places where elevation gain came easy. We ducked under the rope and skinned up. On the way out the light was flat (what else?) which had me exercise caution descending at a few places ("Cheated death again!"). A great day out." — BertB • Apr 7, 2019
