"Snow below tree line was wind affected and stable enough to walk on without snowshoes. I post-holed about 4 to 5 times, so I’m glad I didn’t lug snowshoes up and down the mountain. Pretty decent track for those who had them tho. There was little snow above tree line on the windward aspects. The crux was partially filled with snow which you could kick up, or bypass by smearing some loose slabby rock. There’s a short step to climb with a few moves on loose rock to get to another loose slab section right before the summit. With snow, this might feel pretty sketchy. Great views of adjacent summits and valleys from the summit, so it was worth it!" — ivo • Jan 23, 2022
"This was a fun trip, summit had probably my favorite view of the Three sisters I have seen to date. It was a little difficult finding the initial way up. Bushwhacked a whole bunch but did eventually find myself on the right ridge and from there it was smooth sailing. There's a couple scrambling spots along the ridge. The one right before the summit probably being the crux of the trip. " — Slogenstein • May 15, 2021
"Non-existent trail for most of the way up. Great ridge walking, Crux is short chimney just below summit. Great views all around. Took the screw bowl descent. Sucked big time. Ankle bashing, crappy trail by creek lower down (not helpful that we ran out of light as we reached the half-way point of the descent)." — apfelstrudel • Jul 28, 2020
"Nice day.
Snow starts at 2000m. and becomes unavoidable at 2100m. By 2200m, it was waist deep until all the trees were cleared. Started late, so walked, crawled, swam, and burrowed through slurpie snow. Fortunattely, the deeper stuff was at a really low angle, so it wasn't going to go anywhere.
Huge cornice on the ridge between the false summit and main summit. Lots of probing as we traverses the ridge crest.
Slow going, but worth it for the views. This one beats Lawrence Grassi main summit in my opinion.
Route to Emma's Peak looked very challenging with snow. Came back the same way." — mike_rogers81 • May 18, 2020
"Spent about an hour at the summit and another half hour at the large cairn point. Weather was great. Lots of planes and helicopters flying around. Returned the same slope but more direct to parking lot. Was thinking to descend via the creek but the views were so nice I decided to walk back along the ridge." — Randy • May 14, 2018
