"We went for Noyes in the morning, but the smoke blew in and it was pretty thick. It stung my eyes, and made my throat scratchy...and I could barely see the mountains across the valley. The mighty Chephren was totally obscured by smoke. So, that was pretty unpleasant. We pulled the plug only a quarter of the way up.
Went to Banff to check out the new brewery. It was happy hour...so 1/2 price pizzas.
After getting way too full in Banff, we decided that we needed some exercise. I hadn't been up Ha Ling since the trail was redeveloped, and have never bothered to bag Miner's Peak. Off we went.
The trail is really nice! What a perfect peak for a beginner scrambler!
My ascent wasn't the most pleasant, as the beer and pizza didn't really settle until I was mostly up......
Views were familiar, but nice. I prefer the views from Miners to the ones from Ha Ling. You're closer to Lawrence Grassi and you can see Ha Ling!
Wandered over to Ha Ling before heading down. We were treated to red skies as the sun started to set. At least the smoke is good for sunsets!" — mike_rogers81 • Jul 24, 2021
"Hiking to the saddle is a lot easier now compared to 2014. Ha Ling was very busy but this side didn’t have a lot people at the time of our visit. Great lookout view at the town of Canmore!" — joegar • Jul 17, 2021
"An after work CSMC trip. The weather looked iffy, but it turned out great. "You can't score if you don't shoot." The trail was a bit icy but overall traction was good. We also walked over to the Three Stooges (three bumps next to Miner's)" — BertB • May 4, 2021
"Early morning start 5:15am trailhead with headlamps. To the west some nice views of the of the eclipse past its maximum then it became cloudy. To the east the sun began to rise obstructed but the inversion was nice. Lawrence Grassi towering over in the dark is quite the site to behold!!!" — Randy • Jan 31, 2018
