"A fine traverse that gets better the further you go. Someone made A Joe out of the rocks on railroad hill . Also saw a homeless encampment right in front of scorpion peak guy looks like he has been there a minute " — joshortman • Jan 19, 2023
"After climbing Maid of Rubble, Paula and I drove back to Henderson and hiked to Railroad Hill, which was a perfect way to end the day. It was a bit warm by the time we finished. " — Kevin • Dec 5, 2020
"12.5.2020~Maid of Rubble & Railroad Hill w/Kevin. 11.5 miles, 2,000’ gain....2 great workouts. I enjoyed catching up with Kevin on these 2 special peaks in the Northern McCullough Range close to home. Maid of Rubble has been described as one of the hardest class 2 summit in our area and that is an accurate statement. A Jeep road approach, cats claw choked gully and final ascent on loose rotten rock next an exposed drop, required me to crawl my way up like a scared cat. The descent required 6 points of contact, including butt and cervix. Don’t ask....Fun day! Railroad Hill was also a worthy opponent with a sustained climb and 2 false summits. We were graced by Bighorn rams and yard Horses along our trek. Thanks Buddie! " — paula.raimondi • Dec 5, 2020
