"2.23.2020~North Gate Peak, North Bowl of Fire, Muddy Wilderness, 12 miles, 2,300’ gain in 4:40hrs (including picnic and photo shoot on top.) Thank you for peakbagging with me today my love. The Bowl of Fire the day after a rainstorm was paradise. I really wanted to show my husband this beautiful place. Amazing how warm it gets with only a high of 60 deg. I have a few more summits to tag before the heat comes. This trailhead is amazing and has lots of runnable sections so I love coming here.

"I've been up this one a few times. I really wanted to do something long, but something I didn't have to think too much about. I also wanted to visit a cave nearby which was used by Native American Shamans. I stopped in the "Garden of Little Arches" & discovered my favorite arch had collapsed. I had to sit for a bit & recover from that one...Continued up through the North Bowl of Fire, climbed the ridge rimming the back under South Gate & headed out to the cave. Then made the hike up North Gate's west ridge. Was very pleasant in the morning & a bit warm in the afternoon." — StudioHoodoo • Nov 17, 2019
"Took a long weekend for the holiday. Took advantage of the free time to explore a new area! Hiked up the NE Face of South Gate, which required a couple of Class 4+ moves, then took the loose NW talus slope down. Hiked across the wash and back up the West Ridge to North Gate. From there, we descended the SE gully (not fun) and hiked back down the wash back to my Jeep, which we parked at the end of North Callville Wash Rd." — Kevin • Dec 26, 2014
