"Amazing day on a classic Waterton scramble. Blakiston was a brutal slog, however the amazing ridge walking was worth the price of admission. Mount Hawkins was the prettiest of the trio with great red argillite rock and stellar views of the Lineham Lakes valley. Mount Lineham was a struggle since we were already exhausted. The scree ski off Lineham is the best I've ever done! Very quick descent off Mount Lineham, 1 hour 45 minutes from summit to car." — yuri • Jul 15, 2021
"Hawkins horseshoe. started with high wind and low clouds, Ended with a snowstorm but everything inbetween was a gorgeous day, fresh snow and Ice made the climb up to Blakiston a little trickier but manageable without traction. " — ken_hercules • Jun 6, 2021
"Hawkins Horseshoe (Blakiston, Hawkins, Lineham). The day was cold, warm, snowy, sunny, rainy, windy, and breezy. It was good to be prepared. Blakiston ascent was mostly snow-free, however ice and fresh snow made scramble sections a little slick. A slightly warmer day and these sections would be just wet or even dry." — ivo • Jun 6, 2021
"Alberta. Had to keep going on ridges and climb other tops before reaching Mt Blakiston. More effort than we thought. Didn't find the route at open part in between two hills. Ate some corned beef to get energy. Made it to top. Bad weather going down. Got drowned in the forest. Ranger at car, asked if we were fine." — Pieter • Jul 10, 2017
"As part of Hawkins Horsehoe traverse. The chimney to get through the top bench of cliffs is indeed on the far right, in the left gully just to the left of the cliffs on the right side." — alexjoseph • Jul 6, 2014
"Had met an old fellow the previous year who told me to go up the slopes at the end of the trail / near the waterfall from Lineham Lakes. It was a beautiful blue sky day; the same day Calgary got 54cm of snow... Didn't even know about Calgary until getting back home in Saskatchewan and hearing stories of people stuck in Calgary. Climbing that route was eased by a massive amount of snow in the bowl part way up which was solidly packed and easy to climb." — DougGHenderson • May 18, 1986
