"Took the South Ridge for a quick ascent. Light bushwhacking below the tree line. There is a trail that bypasses the lower ridge via a gulley on the east side. I scoped it out to avoid bushwhacking and turned back. Impossible to not shower anyone below you with loose rocks. Best to keep to the ridge the whole way. Fun scrambling on the upper ridge. "We did Limestone as an ACC evening scramble. We decided to go up the Nugara route. initially a good trail, but then some light bushwacking. Fun hands-on scrambling near the summit. At the summit, with sun setting down, we decided to keep on traversing down the Spirko route. This was not really enjoyable. Track would come in and out, involved bushwacking, getting cliffed out a few times. We went down the crux (slabs) on the skiers' left, while Spirko had gone up on the right. Past the little bench, the hike down the ridge was straightforward, but involved bushwacking. When we crossed the power lines, we just followed donw tot he road, and hiked to the car.
Overall, falls int eh been-there-done-that category. Would not recommend the North ridge, just steep hiking and bushwacking." — apfelstrudel • Aug 8, 2019
"Nice day out in Kananaskis. Showing Lucas around. Talked to a group of two at the summit. They were planning to descend to the col then down the northwest ridge of Limestone ridge to the powerline. It looked like a nice interesting return route. " — Randy • Sep 19, 2018
"Stephan, Jeff and I tackled the South Ridge Nugara route. It's a bit exposed in places and some spots are sketchy. Jeff got creeped out and didn't end up summitting, which is too bad since we made it down without incident. On the way up we didn't stay right on the ridge at first and ended up doing worse scrambling through trees and nasty shit to regain the ridge. Don't do it as it's a waste of time. I was hoping to avoid some exposure, but you're better off dealing with it. Stephan and I did the last 25m gain to the summit. Now, I know there's an easier route, but when you're on the summit, it's hard to see the descent line for the Spirko route. In any case, a short one and still a summit! It took us four hours, but that includes slow going with Jeff taking all his pictures and we had lunch and chatted a bit too. You can easily do this faster and go light." — leigh-annewebster • May 26, 2018
"Surprised to see all the snow had melted. We came up the south ridge, and descended going down the west (northwest) ridge. A lot more bushwhacking than expected and we were only to find segments of trail." — BertB • Sep 9, 2015
"Soloed with my dog. Was her first peak. Was pretty easy. We did not stay on the ridge proper. We were more east and then headed to the peak from a weakness in the rock band. Descended the same way. " — dkmountainman • May 7, 2012
