"Walllace canyon rd is in horrible shape it is rutted out quite bad definitely need high clearance 4WD to get here . Took me almost an hour just on Wallace canyon rd. Next time I would probably loop this by trying to come down the lee/Charleston saddle to Wallace canyon overlook and then going up an obvious rib of mt Charleston .
The peaks were great , Clinton is pretty hairy the way I tried to come up. I could not find any class 3 ledges , quirky foind myself in exposed class 5 when I tried to navigate the ridge . Sidehilled over to a dry fall that I spotted from afar that looked like it would go. It was pretty stiff class 4 but only 15-20ft of real climbing. After that you can walk up to summit and easily get Reagan after . Coming down , I came across the best water source coming right out the mountain. So crisp and refreshing. Walked out the canyon to loop it . Overall a great route without too much brush " — joshortman • Jun 8, 2023

"Linked Clinton, Reagan, Obama and Leapin' Lizard, Clinton being the first peak. Took a direct approach up a beautiful wash on the west side that had at least 3 large waterfalls in it. We exited after the second one and climbed a very loose, steep ridge line. If I was to do it again I would not exit the wash, I would stay in it and follow it all the way to the south end of the peak ridge line, where the route would come up on top of the wall on the west side of the peak. The traversing from Clinton to Reagan to Obama and Leapin' Lizard was pretty straight forward. The exit off of Leapin' Lizard was very steep and loose but manageable." — Heartattackbruce • Sep 18, 2022

"Amber needed Clinton & Reagan to complete the Spring Mountains 10k Peaks Challenge (and this was my second finish of the list). We met early and made the long drive to the trailhead, arriving as it got light out. We hiked up the gully between Clinton & Reagan, which has a lot of debris. It wasn't technically difficult, but did take time to negotiate. When we reached the saddle, we followed the ridge up to Reagan, then back down and up to Clinton, which has the better view (IMO). This is a much easier route up Clinton than the last time I was there. This route never really got over class 2." — Kevin • Aug 25, 2018

"The second peak of a lollipop loop (ish) up Reagan and Clinton Peaks. We approached from the wash/saddle in the middle of Clinton and Reagan peaks. This scree slope was bald instead of tree-covered like Reagan; not sure if that made it easier or harder. The descent off of Clinton was much easier than the one off of Reagan and went much faster. Partially scree-skiing, partially picking our way down. Beautiful weather and a great group of hikers :)" — psychikingjes • Aug 25, 2018

"7.28.18. The Presidential traverse of So. NV...This is about as political as I’ll ever get and this is the closest I’ll ever get to a presidential traverse...Clinton & Reagan Peaks in the Spring Mtns.
Harlan came out to play in the mountains with me and he took me to these 2 rarely visited 10,000’~ish peaks in Wallace Canyon, in the Shadow of the Mt. Charleston summit. What a wonderful day marching up steep hills in a wild remote area. 6.5 miles, 3,400’ vert gain workout. " — paula.raimondi • Jul 28, 2018

"Paula and I took a back way, as she was not yet into cliffs (she got into that later). I had just lost 2 pints of blood (really) and was still suffering brain damage from my accident in February. We also went to Reagan, but I've lost my tracklog from the great brain damage computer event." — hwstock • Jul 18, 2018

"Hiked straight up the steep slope from the end of Wallace Canyon Road. When we hit the wall, we traversed to a point where we were able to take a short class 4 route up to the top. From the top of Clinton Peak, we descended to the saddle, then back up to Reagan Peak. There were many wonderful, gnarled bristlecone pines between the 2 peaks! After reaching Reagan Peak, we descended back to the saddle, then down to the canyon to the north. This was steep & very loose, but went quickly. We took the canyon back to the end of the road, where we parked." — Kevin • Jun 28, 2014

"CP wanted to tag this peak, and that's likely how it ended up here, after he published the 2nd edition of "Rambles and Scrambles." I drove my 2003 Subaru up to 7600'. This time I could not initially locate the class 3 chute I took in 2004." — hwstock • Sep 13, 2009

"I didn't know this peak had a name until we reached the top. On the 2nd page of the register was a note that Bob Greer had been there even earlier, 3x total. We didn't chose the name Reagan for any political reasons -- we just heard, on the way home, that former president Reagan had died." — hwstock • Jun 5, 2004
