"Linked Clinton, Reagan, Obama and Leapin' Lizard, Clinton being the first peak. Took a direct approach up a beautiful wash on the west side that had at least 3 large waterfalls in it. We exited after the second one and climbed a very loose, steep ridge line. If I was to do it again I would not exit the wash, I would stay in it and follow it all the way to the south end of the peak ridge line, where the route would come up on top of the wall on the west side of the peak. The traversing from Clinton to Reagan to Obama and Leapin' Lizard was pretty straight forward. The exit off of Leapin' Lizard was very steep and loose but manageable." — Heartattackbruce • Sep 18, 2022
"Took a very direct approach up the NE ridge line. Lots of talus and some decent rock climbing. Short, but steep. Continued on to Obama Peak on a nice ridge traverse. The track has a few zigs and zags because I was looking for other possible routes. Was intending to link these two with Reagan and Clinton but the weather was changing rapidly so I decided to descend quickly. The descent route I took was extremely steep and there was a slot that I needed to climb down in order to get through a cliff band. All in all, decent route and will do again...with Reagan and Clinton. Oh, be prepared for sections of rough road (?) getting to the TH. " — Heartattackbruce • Aug 18, 2022
"It was an unusually cool weekend, so I went out to one of my favorite spots in the Spring Mountains to camp & hike for the weekend. The flowers are in full bloom out there & it is so pretty. First day I went up the ridge to Leapin' Lizard (so named for the little lizard that literally leapt up at me on the summit), then across the top & over to Obama, which had great views. I then descended the other side, down a very rough canyon. I recommend descending one of the ridges, as the canyon had massive dryfalls to work around & lots of brush. This was a very different hike for the Spring Range & I enjoyed it very much. I saw no signs of people anywhere. Next day, I went to one of my favorite canyons which has major water flow right now. It was gorgeous!" — StudioHoodoo • Jun 22, 2019
