"I had been looking forward to hitting up Ya Ha Tinda for something for a while and as luck would have it Stephan was away for the entire weekend, so I could plan something! I put out a note asking if anyone knew conditions and some peeps reported back it was fairly dry, so I thought about Wellsite or Willson and potentially camping over. Bert wasn't interested in camping over, so I decided on a day trip for Wellsite, the shorter of the two and was lucky enough to connect with Devan. The wind was the crux of the day plus I also broke a pole ($) and actually busted the crampon on my right snowshoe ($). My microspikes have a tear in the rubber too, so I'm not doing so well in the gear department recently lol. Devan set a decent pace and helped immensely by breaking trail. When we got to the steep stuff I told him to go ahead in case really bad weather came in as there was some stuff sitting in the next range over that didn't look so good. Ultimately, I was able to summit too and he waited to make sure all was well before we descended. The WIND SUCKED. My legs were frozen and although my upper body was warm, I didn't sweat at all in my down, so you can imagine the windchill. ..." — leigh-annewebster • Feb 20, 2021
"A windy day. This was done as a backpack trip. We first set camp by the creek (7.6 km, 330 m gain, 2h 03) and then headed to "summit" (14.6 km return, 913 m gain, 5h 45). Hard to pinpoint the summit, as it is mainly a flat plateau. Headed back to camp. Broke camp the next day and hiked out (6.85 km, 103 m gain, 1h 43).
