"Originally called The Snakes Head by the local Indians of the area, but is now known as Snake Hill. It is now the location of a recreational area in the town of Sundre.
When I went to school, this was part of the "cross country" run that we frequently had to do, over a number of years. Also a good place to go smoke cigarettes when a few of us could collect the $0.35 to buy a pack!
It was a 2 mile run, with this steep hill starting after about 50m of level ground in the school yard. At that time I think my best time for the whole run was about 20 minutes... not very fast, but faster than I would be today." — MtnJohn • Jun 1, 1964
