"Mt Burstall - Aug 29 2020. Difficult scrambling. Scrambled up Burstall today before the weather turned (did it?). A pleasant outing overall, only a bit of loose crappy terrain on descent to battle with. We listened to other trip reports and took the rock rib between the 2 black scree slopes on the way up to the col and it was pretty painless. Can pick your way up from there on mostly solid ground to the summit ridge where the fun starts. The ridge top is quite spicy, but it can be mostly avoided until right below the summit. The crack you must take is easier than it appears to go up and down, but the crux is above it, patience definitely required up here but the holds are all where you need them (there are 2 bolted rappel stations up here!) Summit view is fantastic, lots of the Kane scrambles in view. The descent starts out slow then speeds way up once you hit the wonderful scree slope. We biked the Burstall pass trail to make it even quicker. Loved this peak, lots of bang for your buck. 10km return 850m gain in 4.5hrs." — jakefinnan • Aug 29, 2020
"Nice and short scramble. Solid difficult. The last 100m are seriously exposed, but there are plenty of holds. This little peak offers one of the best scree runs in the Rockies!" — Taras • Aug 26, 2014
"A perfect short day. Biked the short bit to the cairns. Up the right side of the valley and up to the summit via an easy scramble line with some exposure. First rain of the summer had us turning down after 5 minutes. A full speed run down the black talus on the east side. And finished off with nachos and pilsner at the Georgetown.
If I remember, I went to the airport later that evening for my daughter who had just returned from a month in Japan.
