"Las Trampas Peak and Vail Peak from Las Trampas Regional Park. Meant to hike Eagle Peak as well, but turned around at a rocky outcrop by mistake and never made it to the the proper summit." — klotito • Oct 25, 2020
"Started from Camille Lane access point. Took Madrone/Corduroy Hills/Las Trampas Ridge trail. Summited Eagle Peak, Vail Peak and Las Trampas Peak. Round trip mileage was 7.02 miles with 1,728 feet of elevation gain." — Zardoz • Apr 22, 2020
"MUD MUD MUD. The rain the day before turned the Bollinger Creek trail into a slippery slog until about half way up the ridge. It took me way longer to climb this peak than I expected, but the views form the top are awesome! Suisan Bay, Mt Diablo, Mission Peak, SF Bay - it's a real 360. Took the ridge trail back down. It was also muddy and the cows really did a number on the lower part of the trail. Great hike, but don't go after it rains.
This completes the SF Classics list for me (for the third time!)." — edg • Jan 21, 2019
"The SF Bay Area Classic Peak Challenge motivated me to head here in the late afternoon today. Last time I ran out of time trying to make my way to this peak from the east side of the Las Trampas Ridge so returned to climb up via the west side of the ridge up Bollinger Canyon. Much shorter route. Steep stretches of fireroad; wilted with temps hovering near 90. Ran over to a nearby peak on the ridge after summiting Las Trampas." — scott • Oct 26, 2017
"Nice warm hike. hazy, but good views of Diablo and Concord. Trail is in good shape. Google directions, do not use the ones from alltrails.com app. They are wrong. Saw 1 cow, he was just chilling." — puddlepirate • Sep 7, 2016
