"Pretty uneventful morning out, I went up Bluemat Hill from 1A and traversed to Anklebiter Ridge then traversed North to Gap Peak along the ridge. I was surprised with how good the scrambling was at such low elevations. Side note: I believe you would be quite unwise to take the standard hiking trail up Gap Peak, I took this way down and man it was garbage " — corbinruthven • Oct 5, 2022
"Definitely a leg burner lol. Once you get through most of the dense forest there is two major cliff bands you have to go around. The first cliff band you go around climbers right. The second cliff band you go around climbers left. After this is a wildly annoying scree slope that you must go up. Once you are through the annoying scree slope you carry along the ridge for a little ways, scrambling along the way. Then you eventually get to a section of ridge that is fairly exposed. Not good for people who cannot mentally handle exposure. We had a blast though. Follow this narrow ridge to the summit. Outstanding views from the summit. Probably one of my favorites in this little area. " — Slogenstein • Jul 20, 2019
"From Anklebiter. Difficult scramble with exposure. We bypassed one block (the first big obstacle) that looked to be low fifth class with terrifying exposure via slabs on the right. Took these slabs until we could find a moderate line onto the ridge. We also bypasses another very challenging block, again via slabs and ledges to the right. Everything else was heads on.
Fun route" — mike_rogers81 • Jul 13, 2019
"So bob spirko's trip report is a bit dated now. His gps path is west of the main path at the start. So I had to bushwhack a bit to find the trail. Solo'd today as the weather was better than expected late in the forecast. Followed the well worn trail on descent" — MarkJPerkins • Jun 23, 2019

"Came from Fable and did the ridge. The final ridge to the summit was nice. It was exposed, but had enough footing. Provided an exciting finish. We got off route on the descent, cliffed out, and had to bushwhack our way down to Grotto Canyon." — BertB • May 23, 2015
"CSMC trip. Gap to Fable traverse (supposed to be). Traverse the whole ridge and got a thurndercloud with some static at the final point of it, had to drop down very quickly. Will have to go back to summit the Fable, which means that will have an experience of a very long and exhausting walk along a creek and crawling over the boulders again." — alexp • May 10, 2015
"12 hours Gap to Fable and out over the flooded river. We couldn't identify the 5.4 route on Fable so just scrambled it. In hindsight, probably would have aimed for a slab much higher on west side. Saw a party high up on what appeared to be the slab I climbed and bailed on in 2009. A long 25km day with a 4 hr walk out." — alexjoseph • Jul 7, 2013
"Traversed from Mount Fable. Got off track after the summit of Gap Peak and descended down the 5.7 waterworn gully completely offroute and ended up at the crags of Steve's Canyon. Was scary. Lucky i found a 5 meter prussik that was pretty worn down." — dkmountainman • Jul 4, 2011
