"11.29.18. Cheyenne Peak, Traverse and trail jog. 5.2 miles, 1,400’ gain. Sunshine is for Sissies! Kevin invited us out to play in the rain. We jogged trails around Cheyenne Mtn and summited the peak and traversed the entire ridge. I always think rain wants to kill me so I was happy to have the opportunity to prove myself wrong and test my “crappy weather” gear, clothing, layers, etc. It was so beautiful and the rain made everything look vibrant and smell earthy and divine. With cold seasons coming, I hope to toughen up and get out of my fair weather comfort zone. Thanks Buddies!" — paula.raimondi • Nov 29, 2018

"My 4 day Thanksgicing weekend wasn't as relaxing as I would have liked, so I took Thurs & Fri off this week too to try it again! There was rain in the forecast for today, but I wanted to go anyways. Paula & Harlan decided to join me. We hiked up the east ridge to Cheyenne Mountain, then traversed the ridge to the northern terminus and hiked/jogged/scampered the trails back to the park. This is just what I needed!!! Thanks for joining me!" — Kevin • Nov 29, 2018

"11.3.18. Summerlin Logo multi-peak CW loop. Aka “The long way to Cheyenne Peak”... 7 Peaks~The Whale, Gottlieb, Little Red Rock Peak, Woody, 5356, Summerlin Peak & Cheyenne Peak~11.3 miles (through insanely tough terrain), nearly 5,000’ gain. Harlan and I trounced up and across these rugged ridges and peaks on the Eastern end of the LaMadre range like there was no tomorrow, making the most of the last Day of Daylight Savings. We gobbled up peaks along the way like pac man. Nom nom nom times 7. I experienced pure bliss on the ridge as I scampered and pranced across it next to steep cliff drop offs. It was originally going to be a 6 peak day but someone had the idea of adding Cheyenne Peak for an epic finale. This Day was one of the most exciting days I’ve ever experienced in the Mountains. Thanks Harlan Stockman for keeping me safe today on the hard climb." — paula.raimondi • Nov 3, 2018

"Just moved into the neighborhood and actually had never done this peak although I've done the taller ones around it a few times. Left my front door and was to the flagpole in 35 minutes. Didn't know of any particular route, just headed straight up an obvious ridge that goes right to the flagpole. Great morning workout that I will repeat often. Great views of the Vegas Valley." — acekelly • May 23, 2018

"This was Vegas departure day for me, but I was determined to get a few more summits in. I got in this one and Peak 3247 which is its lower neighbor with ample time leftover to return to my hotel and check out in a timely manner. I went up the un-trailed steep south-east slope toward the flag. From there I went along the ridge to the high point. I returned along the same route, which should have been uneventful, but it was a challenge to find the exact same route I took up. At one point I found myself on the edge of a steep cliff with no way out but to retreat back up the slope until I found the safer route down. All in a mostly easy morning of hiking. From there I took a few minutes to finish off Peak 3247 before heading back to my room the check out." — MikeTeeples • Apr 20, 2018

"Early plans changed because Olivia was home sick so I did this one later. Very cold and windy. I had to wear my big hat. My face was frozen! Pretty city views! Lots of snow on lower peaks." — paula.raimondi • Jan 24, 2017
"A first time for me even though it is not so far away, Great Weather and Company, walked up to the Flag Pole and then continued along the Ridge over another Peak and down the Ravine." — Nuernberger • Mar 4, 2014

"To the flagpole and back. No trail, just a short scramble about .75 miles and 900 ft to the top. Lots of loose and sharp limestone rock, sucked going down. Total trip was 2 hours. Did it with my buddy Jason." — cardsfanlv • Oct 28, 2012
