"After admiring Centre Peak many times while driving south, it had long been on my list, but always got deferred due to requiring permission to cross private land. After some detective work, I got permission from the land-owner on the east side. The route follows a gravel road, a very convenient cut-line and then a grind up a gulley on the north east side. The terrain in the gulley varied from pleasant to loose crappola, with the rib on the left side to be best for ascent.
After reaching the Centre Peak summit, Jean-Francois & Andrew scampered back down, while Rob & I bravely followed the ridge south to Caudron Peak. This route involved a few bypasses, route-finding, some exposure, moderate scrambling, with a good goat trail to follow much of the way. We returned the same way.

"Livingston range traverse minus the last ridge.
Very good route, very difficult for the single day. Only recommend if you’re in very good conditioning and have high comfort on class 4 scrambling. Do not expect to run more than maybe a km or two in the first 30kms. Most of it is hands on scrambling. The last 10kms would be possible to jog although we were not in the condition to do so. I brought 4l of water. Would have loved 5. Started at 3:20am which was a good call, did the first 15km’s out of the sun which likely helped a lot. Took us just over 15hrs at a good walking pace with almost no breaks and no errors in route finding " — RockyMountainGoats • Jul 7, 2024
