"Long day of miscellaneous Marin County peak bagging: #1 Barnabe Mountain via Bill's Trail. #2 Big Rock Ridge from Lucas Canyon Road. #3 Little Peak via East Ridge use trail. #4 Burdell Mountain from Olompali State Park. Lots of gently graded trails so it was easy to mix in some trail running. Totals: ~24 mi, 4800 ft gain." — klotito • Feb 28, 2021
"Started at Samuel P. Taylor state park picnic area. Accessed the North Creek Trail through old campsites before you cross the bridge into the main campground. Followed the North Creek trail for .1 mile and then crosed over Sir Francis Drake Blvd to the Madrone Group Camp Area. At the upper parking lot you find the Barnabe Road Trail/Fireroad. Follow that to the summit." — Zardoz • Apr 8, 2018
"An unseasonably warm Sunday... 70 degrees and cloudless. Planned to run the loop: up the more gradual Bill's Trail and then down the steep Barnabe fire road... but discovered that Bill's Trail is still closed for repairs. Tried my best to run up the fire road but it crushed me to a walk about halfway up.
Summit has some crap on it (towers and such) but views of western Marin are exceptional. This peak deserves its place in the SF Bay Area Classic Peaks challenge." — scott • Feb 7, 2016
