"Association Peak attempt. We broke trail in fresh snow all the way to Association col before realizing we had run out of time and energy. Lots of beautiful winter scenery. Still took over 10 hours despite not reaching the summit. I don't this one is reasonably doable until the after the next chinook. An absolute sufferfest!" — yuri • Feb 24, 2022
"Association Peak loop. We went up via South Drainage (ice-climbers call this route "David Thompson Motor Inn") and descended the standard route (NE bowl). South Drainage is much more enjoyable and aesthetic route than the other one. It presented a nice combo of hiking, scrambling and ice climbing. " — Taras • Jan 12, 2019
"Traversed over from Association Hill using the ridge. I went up the trail a bit and broke off that to gain elevation. I ended up coming around into the north facing bowl where the yellow scree meets the gray rubble. It was a slog to get up to the ridge. I was tired when I hit the summit and opted to not do End Mountain." — BertB • May 19, 2018
"Used the cut line then across CMC valley and up a good trail marked 51(rafter6ranchfoot)to cut through forest on the end of wendell then down to old fort creek. Luckily I had been here before cause it could be hard to find the next trail across the creek, it's about 400 meters down stream. On return I followed the creeks back to cut line. The trail is much poorer with washed out sections and downed trees." — Randy • Apr 29, 2016
"Ran from the Yamnuska trailhead, over the shoulder of Yam and up Association staying south of the gully. We gained the summit ridge via an obvious weakness in the cliffband. After tagging the summit we traversed across the backside to End Mountain." — joannaford • Feb 26, 2016
"Not the most exciting peak. Would not recommend this one. The views are nice, but the approach is far too long.
