"3.8.24~Arden Peak workout before work. I tried a little harder on the way up and shaved :06 min to the top. 6.5 miles, 1,300’ gain in 1:27hrs. Up in :54 min, down in :33 min. Breezy and cool. " — paula.raimondi • Mar 8, 2024
"2.22.24~Arden Peak. 6.5 miles, 1,400’ gain in 1:31hrs. Jog/Hike up…Run down. The Maintenance trucks followed me down from the summit but didn’t catch up to me, then cheered me at the finish. :@) " — paula.raimondi • Feb 22, 2024
"started on a dirt road up to Arden. Then its all off trail along the ridge. The Fortress looks impossible to summit. but there is one way on south side. There was a cairn marking it. It was alot of class 3. " — derek-puraVida • Apr 2, 2023
"What a traverse ! Most of it is quite loose rugged and unpleasant but the ridge definitely goes , quite easily at that. Didn’t encounter anything harder than class 3 (up and around the fortress) . Phone died on the way back so add an extra 5-6 miles on the return. I drew a line on the final summit push on fortress as it may look intimidating at first , it is real easy getting up there. "1.19.2023~Arden to Poop Mtn (aka The Fortress) traverse, North McCullough Range, Sloan Canyon. 10 miles, 2,400’ gain, Anthem to Henderson in 5:05hrs. Could have been faster but the route was miserable, I had to take a call mid hike and I made horrible shoe choice that had me in pain. 1st time doing this traverse. I made some mistakes and plan to redo it with a cleaner route. It started a sunny day and ended a rainy day. Beautiful rugged route." — paula.raimondi • Jan 20, 2023
"3.26.2021~Arden, 4,055’ & Anthem East Trail HP~6.3 miles, 2,300’ gain, 3:57hrs w/Laszlo. Cool Spring Breezes, rocky lava terrain, Bighorn Sheep Fam, hill & dale and summits with 360 views of grandeur were served up to us today. Spring Flowers were nonexistent as our 2020 drought is causing a late arrival. Took some time to break into the 4,055’ reg. I had to get savage with a rock. Great workout. "Started at Anthem East / Crescent Heights Ave. Headed up past AE HP to Arden Peak, traversed down the NE ridge to Peak 4055, down the east ridge (short class 3 obstacle) and up to The Fortress. Was planning to climb down the NE ridge of The Fortress but it looked pretty hairy, never been there before and didn't feel comfortable doing it solo so went back down the main chute on the west side and then up the ridge to Peak 3920 (more class 3 that can be avoided, one of the holds broke under my foot but thanks to 3 points of contact didn't fall!). All in all an AWESOME day hiking after a long lazy vacation in Brian Head. Beautiful weather. Recorded a low temp of around 25 at Peak 4055 and found a few small ice tanks on the rocks from yesterday's rain. Oh and a pretty cool lava rock arch coming down from Arden, unusual sights for McCullough! Just me on the trail, a mountain biker past me twice on the "pandemic" trail (is that new lol?) it's the one near the wash that leads to Fortress. And a small plane flying low and slow below the top of Rattlesnake. On the AE trail back to car looked over at Shadow Canyon and counted 13 cars at BM TH not including the parking lot that ..." — DudeAlmighty • Mar 16, 2021
"Hiked up the Anthem East Trail to the Arden Peak Road. Once at the summit, we followed the ridge north to the next little peak, then descended through the canyon & eventually made our way back to the trailhead." — Kevin • Nov 23, 2014
"Date is an estimate. I didn't know this peak was in Peakery at the time. I used this peak as a training workout for labor of Love 50k training. Only went to the top gate for fear of EMF Scrambled Brain and arrest. " — paula.raimondi • Mar 1, 2013
