"Wanted to go out and see red rock after yesterday’s storm so decided to do this short hike. I started at middle oak creek instead of the standard south oak creek trail to avoid people. I just went cross country towards the knoll and linked up with the standard trail near the base of the climb. There was a lot of slick clay like mud from all the melting snow that was hard to get through. I decided to drop off the face of the knoll for my descent to avoid hiking back through the mud. The descent I took was steep and loose but a lot shorter. Forgot to start my tracker so no track to upload." — maggielynn • Feb 26, 2023
"Crap day. Wanted to do Wilson loop with as many extras as I could get . Did not think ice would be that bad . Once I got to first hand line on Wilson all the rock was pretty much a sheet of ice . Couldn’t find a good look at a line up oak peak from where I was either . Was pretty fun walking up the creek though . Better than work I guess " — joshortman • Dec 12, 2022
"7 miles, 1,500’ gain. It was an attempt at Rainbow Peak approach but I started late (10:40am) and I wanted to see how long it would take me to get to know the canyon, bumble and boulder up and down so I was conservative and turned around. I’ll be back for my Rainbow. It’s the only Crown peak Sandstone Goliath I haven’t stood on top of. I did the Knoll on my way out. Pretty views of Wilson. Meditated in the creek too.
