"Very fun scramble up the east ridge route, stellar rock and mostly tucked away from high exposure. You'll still want to be confident on easy 5th class terrain if you want to take on this ridge. Great views of the walk up wall, Yoga Peak, and Bridge Mtn from this peak. Will likely repeat with someone who doesn't mind miles of boulder hopping for the descent. " — MikeERodriguez • May 27, 2026
"A while ago I tried the standard route up pine creek peak but turned around once it started getting hard since I wasn't 100% sure of the route. This time I decided to just go the easy way, which I think is the normal descent route. I don't think I quite found that as I didn't see any cairns or anything, but either way I made it up. After that I made my way over to terrace canyon peak (the traverse over was loose and brushy, I wouldn't recommend it). My initial plan was to then head over to gunsight notch but I couldn't see a nice way over without descending all the way into pine creek and climbing back out, so I decided to just skip it for now. I'll have to come back for that specifically at some point." — kbrack • Jan 17, 2026
"This is a brand new route (at least the climb out of Pine Creek) that is Class 5. Exposure is high, but the climbs are great. Once up to the ridge line that runs up to Pine Creek Peak you will follow the ridge and eventually connect with the “standard” route. The entire route is cairned and should be easy to follow. It is strongly advised that you be an advanced, technical scrambler to attempt the climb out of Pine Creek. Have fun! Be safe! " — Heartattackbruce • Oct 28, 2025
"No matter how many times I go in, can never find a path of least resistance and always end up bushwhacking. Going up pine creek & coming down terrace canyon peak was some solid sustained scrambling. Maybe even some class 4 moves. Almost done with red rock part of rambles and scrambles hard to believe these 59 peaks are only ~6% of the overall peaks in the book 😵💫" — joshortman • May 23, 2023
"Never thought I'd find myself in Red Rock in the middle of August ... but WOW what a trip. Day started off dry and clear so we headed up the classic ridge route to Pine Creek peak. A few clouds came over as we descended. About half way down the skies opened up and we had thunder, rain, hail, waterfalls and an absolute fabulous day coming out of the canyon. As we exited the sun came back out and dried us off. The waterfalls continued as we made it back to the parking lot. I included an image from the bottom of the parking lot where you can see a temporary river flowing with the beautiful peaks in the background. I don't think i'll be coming back during summer anytime soon, but that was the most magical experience ever! Two thumbs up and jaw on the floor. " — DudeAlmighty • Aug 18, 2022
