"Today I approach the city of Cieza and when I cross the river I see people bathing and some canoes, what a contrast between the freshness of the water and the dryness that I find in the Sierra de La Atalaya a few miles further on. These two peaks located on the same ridge are ledges of pure bare rock where drought-adapted shrubs and some pines grow.
There is no defined trail so you can climb using common sense to avoid getting hit, you will not find anyone on the route either but you will see green fields of fruit trees and irrigation ponds from above." — franciscobirruezo • Aug 5, 2023
"I'm in the Peak 448 m in La Atalaya de Cieza. I have to descend and climb again to reach the top of my second peak
from today. The rock floor allows me to advance safely, I took a day off at work to do this so I try to enjoy the day.
It's been a great weather all over Europe these days thanks to a strong anticyclone, there are people bathing in the Cantabrian Sea and animals and plants are moving forward.
A saying here says if it's hot in March it will be cold in May.

"It is a cold and gray morning, ideal to go to the mountain. Near Cieza a sign informs that the city is free of fracking, my car is hybrid so I am glad.The energies of the future must be sustainable.
I start the climb and I see that the boots hold on the stone so I climb fast, near the top I see some red marks that indicate the way. From above I can see mountains, forests, a river, the city and the countryside.
