"
It's quite hot these days so I leave early for this peak that is located in a natural park very close to the city of Murcia. Many plants have flourished after a fairly rainy month of June, some medicinal ones such as knapweed and thyme.
I am lucky today because there is some mist and low clouds that bring a bit of freshness to the route.
I find climbers scrambling on the rock and other hikers walking the trails. The truth is that it is lucky to find this green lung of nature next to a big city like Murcia." — franciscobirruezo • Jul 22, 2023
"After several days on red alert for heavy rains that caused flooding, it was time to go to the mountain. Numerous landslides cut the route and force you to walk with some intensity. I suspect that the landscape is changing in front of our noses in a remarkable way. Everything is greener. Water
open roads that did not exist before and drag stones and silt towards the slopes. At the summit of La Panocha there is exceptional tranquility
No one dares to climb here today." — franciscobirruezo • Sep 15, 2019
" In these rock walls they learned to climb generations of mountaineers, in my youth I spent many hours here. For this
I have pleasant memories in my mind.
We take the Path of Los Carpi to go up and walk a little more, at the top we are alone like the previous time, we enjoyed a little of the sunny morning.
Someone has painted the stones of a road in colors, while time runs more slowly up here than down in the city.
I needed to disconnect." — franciscobirruezo • Oct 4, 2018
"Today we went to La Cresta del Gallo, a natural park 4 miles from the City of Murcia. The name of the mountain is due to the rock formation of the top. In those walls we have climbed many fans and others have suffered accidents (I was lucky).
From Los Teatinos area going up the road that leaves the Segura Valley to the left, the views are beautiful. In the final part there are two zones to climb, one path in zig-zag
and another with complicated steps and climbed. We have chosen the difficult but we have gone down the Zz path." — franciscobirruezo • Jul 22, 2017
