"Hiked with Erica & Tracy. Made our way up to Muddy Temple first, which had a fun narrow ridge section near the summit. Took a different ridge down and hiked out to ‘Time Machine Rock’. In addition to the giant rock with historic graffiti, I did find an actual (pretty sure) petroglyph on another rock a bit higher. We backtracked a bit, then started making our way to Peak 2746. Our ascent was loose, but not horrible. There is no register at the summit. Continuing along the ridge, we eventually reached Southwest Razorback Peak. No register there either. Followed the ridge down to a place where we could drop down, then followed the wash back to Cottonwood Wash. the colors out here are so stunning, especially after all of the recent rain! "Just picked a random peak from the Top 100 list, was hoping to tag a few more peaks on this one but Bearing peak was the primary objective. Beautiful view, but not straightforward route finding. Lack of cairns once you turn off for Bearing led me down faint traces and animal paths, reminds me of navigating the badlands. Accidentally climbed Muddy temple in order to get a bearing on the proper trail out of Pinto Valley. Loose rock and sharp rocks may keep me from visiting Bearing anytime soon, but I will definitely be back to Pinto. " — MikeERodriguez • Dec 15, 2024
"I've done this one a few times. This is a wildly scenic lollipop loop. One can go up & turn around & come back the same way, but I highly recommend the loop. It's so scenic & fun. " — StudioHoodoo • Apr 8, 2023
"Hiked out Cottonwood Wash, then up the loose west side of the ridge. Crossed over the ridge, then to the narrow edge part. It is possible to avoid the edge by dropping off the left side to a rough sheep trail, but that trail is also a little creepy. Dropped down the other side on the east ridge & took a narrow wash into Pinto Valley to see some very old petroglyphs. From there, I went up Pinto Valley to Hamblin East Peak. I'll log that one separately." — StudioHoodoo • Oct 20, 2019
"I've done this one a few times...love it. I do this as a loop. Up one side, down another ridge. Always go into Pinto Valley to see petroglyphs & come up a pretty, narrow wash. This is sometimes called Pinto Valley Castle." — StudioHoodoo • Dec 29, 2016
