"A long weekend solo trip to climb Willingdon and Crown, July 14-16, 2018. Hiked in over Quartzite col. Still lots of snow in the gullies on the east side of the col. Left a camp at Devon Lakes at 7am and started up the West Ridge of Willingdon. Lots of icicles and verglas dribbling over the crux cliff band but enough dry areas to find holds. On the summit at 11:30 and stopped for 1/2 hour to read the summit register. Signed it and later realized I had entered the wrong date (entered July 14th but it was actually the 15th). Descended the South-east ridge and arrived at the Willingdon/Crown col around 1:30. Left some gear here before scrambling up to the summit of Crown. Corbett's description is to traverse right as needed to bypass difficulties, but I went left at the top and found nothing more than moderate scrambling. The scramble across the summit ridge was also moderate scrambling and I arrived at the Crown summit around 2:50. Coming down, I took the small notch immediately west of the summit onto the south face and then angled back across scree to the ridge and back to the col. The descent from the col down and across the south face of Willingdon is a long tedious scree bash. W..." — MichaelDyck • Jul 15, 2018
"Came in through Quartzite col - limited snow on the East side but nasty scree for coming back up. Easy scree-bashing 99% of the way to the summit of WIllingdon, theres a fairly new looking red rope hanging off of a few pins over the crux of the West ridge. We traversed to Crown and South tower from the summit of Willingdon. The traverse was a lot of fun, we walked along a snow arete for the upper section and ran down the scree for the lower section." — BobbyG • Sep 2, 2017
"8.5 hrs from car to camp (leisurely pace). Alpine start 5 hours round trip to summit. Quick nap, back up quartzite (uggg) and out in 6 hrs. The siffleur is remote and beautiful." — ChadKnight • Sep 7, 2014
"A 1.5 day trip with Arvind to enjoy the last gasps of a beautiful Fall. Incredibly blue skiies (compared to the past weekend in the smoke on Mt. Cline). Left trailhead at 2pm and reached the campsite (17km) near Devon Lakes by 8pm under the moonlight. About -1C but up and going at 7am early light. Summitted by 10am (3 hrs) and then decided to walk the long way through Pipestone Pass (32km) which was beautiful but meant a long long walk and a final 30 minutes on the trail in the dark." — alexjoseph • Sep 27, 2012
