"Normal route, south drainage. The hardest and worst part is lower part which involves deadfall, rock hopping , rubble. The steepest last 700 m vert is actually not that bad ; some grass , a scree, a bit of more solid rock to be found. No technical difficulties (YDS class 2). Warm weather and superb views from the top. Peak is definitely over 3k , other sources saying 3020-22m , my gps shows even more. Old maps say 2995m." — PawelG • Sep 20, 2025
"Mt. Girouard is for true masochists who don't mind rock-hoping for hours on knee-wrenching boulders and jumping over countless deadfall. The only reward is a fantastic view of Minnewanka Lake from the summit.
Easy scramble, no hands-on scrambling or exposure." — Taras • Nov 4, 2015
"Myself and 3 Army friends were on 2 weeks R&R whilst being based in BATUS. After hitting Edmonton and Calgary, we headed to Banff before going on to Jasper and Vancouver on an epic road trip. Whilst there, we explored the trails and near by peaks of this beautiful area. A few good scrambling sections with a bit of exposure, and lots of scree !!" — HikingViking • Sep 23, 1990
