"8km with 1,200m gain.
Family scramble day; skipped the ridge difficult on climber's left. Navigation skills test. "Easy way down" sucked a big way. If not for the views, wouldn't worth it at all." — alexp • Jul 19, 2020
"Planned on ascent via tick ridge, but immense verglas, snow and cornices made us defer to the East ridge. Straightforward scrambling and post-holing up to the ridge. Melt-freeze cycle in full effect in Waterton and there was supportive rain crust at higher elevations which allowed for fast crampon travel above treeline. " — BobbyG • Mar 19, 2017
"Solo trip down to Waterton while youngest daughter is away in Kamloops playing soccer. Rain in Calgary but sunny in Waterton. Started at 8:30am and avoided a lot of the snow by following the ridgeline and had to climb around waist deep snow as it got deeper at the top. Eventually bypassed the airy rock on the upper ridge by kicking steps in hard west facing steep snow. Descended the easy line though snow half way down at least. A wet avalanche down one path.
