"To get to Cyclone Mountain, we started at the Fish Creek trailhead, then biked/walked the 4km to Temple Lodge, hiked over Deception pass and down to Skoki Lodge. We dropped some gear at the lodge and then continued on past Merlin Meadows and bushwhacked our way across the valley to the base of Cyclone Mountain. After some more bushwhacking to treeline, it was a reasonably straightforward ascent up a ridge to the summit where there were impressive views of the glaciers hidden in the valleys beyond. For descent, we followed the ridge toward Pipestone Mountain and dropped down a vast scree gulley before following our route back to Skoki Lodge where dinner was waiting. This would be a long day trip, so it makes more sense as an objective from a base in the Skoki area.

"Cyclone Mountain: Class 1 terrain , "easy scramble"/steep walk-up via South Ridge, no actual scrambling. Short bushwhack, which is not bad. No trail, some routefinding required.
I wanted to traverse from Cyclone to Pipestone Mountain, but quickly changed my mind once on the summit due to the strong wind and some verglas on the north face. The traverse is Class 3 according to Rick Collier." — Taras • Sep 28, 2020
