"Ephraim Roberts and I were looking for a suitable ascent with the on again / off again spring conditions of 2026, and we stumbled on this objective that is mid-way between Mount Burns and Bluerock Mountain. We utilized the same access trail for Bluerock Mountain from the Junction Creek trailhead that parallels Bluerock Creek.
After 7 km of easy trail walking to get to the "bench" (which is now just a plank) below the knoll that is referred to as "Ram Mountain", we aimed NW. We side-hilled for about 2.5 km across a scree slope over a couple of ribs coming off Bluerock Mountain, using faint sheep trails until we dropped into the Bluerock Creek drainage. We scouted out a few options to get to the beginning of the southeast rib of Burnrock Peak that leads up to the east/west summit ridge leading to the Burnrock Peak summit - we chose to go through light trees in the burn. After some light travel through the burn, we got to the main scrambling for the day. This light forest could be bypassed by continuing up the drainage towards Mount Burns until the large drainage coming from the Bluerock Creek main branch is found that almost goes all the way to the base of the southeast rib ..." — d-lutz • May 24, 2026
