"Went up to Pulsatile Tinnitus Peak first with the objective of getting Blue Diamond Hill. As me and Daisy got close to BDH which is a little bit on private property now, a helicopter landed just below the peak and o figured I better not trespass. Literally 50 yards and 40 feet below the summit. Did not hit the summit block for Hi-Squirrel as i had the puppy with me." — acekelly • Nov 21, 2023
"This is my standard route to Pulsatile Tinnitus (PT) peak: from the north. One can hit as many cliffs and as few trails as one likes, and it sure seems like more of a peak from the north, compared with the route from the maintained trails on the south side. Best parking is on wide N shoulder just after entrance to Red Rock scenic loop on rte 159 (there used to be a primitive gate through the fence, now there are several breaks). I've likely done at least 10 variations on these routes.
I had severe pulsatile tinnitus from Feb 2018 to Sept 2018 (stopped after brain surgery), and I posted my routes on FB, jokingly as "pulsatile tinnitus peak." I guess that's why this peak was named as such." — hwstock • Dec 8, 2021
"Took Boneshaker to Lookout Road to Hi Squirrel, which is an exposed class 3 climb to a little rock tower, with a very small summit. From there, we took Overlook Ridge to PT Peak, then Bomb Voyage past the Muffin Boulders, back to the trailhead. It was a gorgeous day and a fairly easy hike (which was nice after doing 30 miles and about 7k gain in the last 2 days." — Kevin • Jun 7, 2020
"Included this peak with Blue Diamond Hill. I formed a long loop hike hitting all the high points along the way. Really, the only time I actually left the trail and did a little cross country was when I approached Pulsatile Tinnitus Peak and went for the summit. The nice cool Vegas spring day made the trip even nicer. Despite all the great views, the trip through the canyon on the Bob Gnarly Trail was probably the biggest highlight." — MikeTeeples • Apr 18, 2018
"I went to the top of Harlan’s PT Peak today for some Meditation, Visualization, Affirmation, Relaxation, Sun Salutation and Rejuvenation. The breezes and views were divine. I always see cute, chubby, chicken-quail, mountain grouse Families up there. I love the sounds they make.
My legs were tired from a lot of mileage but I was steady. :55min to the Summit (via Muffin Trail), :40 min on top and Down to the car in :37 min. I was tempted to run down Bob Gnarly with reckless abandon and no regard for my safety but my legs are dead and I was likely to trip and fall on my face, so I chose to scamper with caution. Lovely outing. 6 miles, 1,400’ gain." — paula.raimondi • Mar 9, 2018
