"Climbed solo from the south side. Next level wind on the top 1/3, the gusts knocked me down a few times.
Biked along the Drywood Falls trail about 3 km. Left the trail about 1 km before Drywood Falls, climbing through an open meadow, avoiding the treed areas with heavy snow. Followed the ridge right of the gully. Stayed well right of the waterfall. Once above the highest cluster of mature trees turn left to make the ridge.
At this point, one would be tempted to simply follow the ridge up to the peak. This is a mistake. The whole area is a mess of loose boulders, just waiting to break an ankle, and with a crosswind of 100+ km/hr, it was tough going. Instead, head into the gully to the left, and follow the gully up the hill. The footing is much better.
After that, follow the ridge to the peak.
I did not find a summit log. But I did find boot tracks in the snow, partly drifted over. Someone else had been up in the last few weeks.

"Prairie Bluff - Victoria Peak & Ridge - Pincher Ridge traverse
(along with some other sub-peaks with at least 300ft/92m prominence, 10 in total)
36.4km with 2,900m gain in 12hrs return
For the most, it's just an enjoyable ridge walk with first-class colourful views. Moderate scramble sections are en-route to Victoria Peak and off Pincher Ridge North point. The latter is avoidable by taking slopes between the main summit and North part of the ridge.
As it was raining and snowing (in other places) previous night, had my hiking/scrambling boots instead of approach shoes. I definitely forgot how heavy it is in them. By the time I got back to the service road, I was ready to kiss it and yell "hallelujah".
Got lucky with the weather: while it was really wet in the morning but got dry by lunch; was mainly cloudy and a couple storms that appeared on horizon around 5pm, just went another way." — alexp • Aug 17, 2019
"Woke up at 5:30 and the forecast looked challenging. Back to sleep.
We ended up doing a quick one in Castle.
Took Nugara's difficult route. Lots of hands on and interesting routefinding.
Left the car at 1, back by 6. Worth it for a half day!
