"Loop. I hiked up popular trail (SE ridge) to get up Lipsett. From there I dropped just over 100 m to the col and went up unnamed smaller peak to the W-NW, about 2555 m high. From that point I descended south ridge towards highway( off trail hike, then a bit of bushwhack at the end). 4 km walk along the highway was necessary to reach car." — Pawel G • Oct 15, 2023
"Pretty boggy for the first 1.5kms but trail is dry after that. Couple of lingering snow patches higher up but not problematic. Weather was decent, some sun showers with a lot of wind up high. The Highwood is still look quite snowy. Lots of folks out for a rip today, it was nice to see." — hollywilliams • Jul 10, 2022
"Tried to avoid the crowds on the Highwood and see some larches. Plus get a summit!!! Saw no one for 2.5 hours of the 4 hours I was out and only 12 people. Easy hike and a little slippery on the snow, but otherwise fine. Views are decent. Brought traction but didn't use it. No avi hazard at the time." — leigh-annewebster • Sep 23, 2018
"It's an easy hike in the summer. The snow makes it very different this time of year due to strenuous trailbreaking involved below the treeline. Couldn't follow the summer trail due to avi concerns in the alpine, which added extra ups and downs. " — Taras • Nov 19, 2015
"Came up from Lipsett Col after Mist Mountain. I thought the summit of Lipsett was the next bump to the NW as it had a cairn. I walked over Lipsett, made a GPS waypoint, took two pictures and kept going to bag the NW outlier. It was a nice hike." — BertB • Oct 22, 2015
"Originally objective was for Mist mountain and Lipsett, however the weather was getting worse as we were approaching the col so we only went up Lipsett then descended down a gully." — dkmountainman • Oct 22, 2011
