"Decided to join Leigh-Anne, Kate, Jenna, Bonnie and Nate for a fun outing. I did Tyrwhitt and most of the way over to Pocaterra, but since I've been up Pocaterra before and Leigh-Anne decided to take the scree slog route, I held off. I didn't want to go along the ridge by myself. Down the usual descent off of Pocaterra and back at the car before dark." — BertB • Oct 15, 2022
"Redid Tyrwhitt and got Mount Pocaterra! One more moderate left in the Kane 3rd edition! Had an awesome day out with Bert, Nate, Jenna, Kate and Bonnie. We did both summits, but I did the lower line to get the second one as I hate exposure lol." — leigh-annewebster • Oct 15, 2022
"Summited via ridge line. Tyrwhitt is a boring scree slog with a cool hole in the ridge to look through. Originally wanted to traverse to poceterra as well but between 5’ of visibility and rain decided to go home " — Rocky Mountain Goats • Aug 24, 2022
"Highwood Ridge > Grizzly Ridge > Mt. Tyrwitt > Mt. Pocaterra > Pocaterra Ridge. Solo mission for 5 peaks. Highwood, Grizzly, Tyrwitt we’re straight forward with no complications other than a scree slog up Tyrwitt. One group above was unintentionally sending a lot of rock down the face. The ridge to Pocaterra was long and relatively fun. Great views the whole way. Route finding on Mt. P was the only real challenge. I ended up climbing some exposed sections that I may have avoided if I read up more beta beforehand. Descending the east face was interesting. You pretty much go the where you don’t get cliffed out, trending to skiers right. I then crossed a snow patch at the top of the valley to gain the western flank of P Ridge. There were enough game trails to make some sidehilling bearable. the return trip through the valley was enjoyable. A creek was perfect to cool off and refill my water. I love this area for the minimal approach time below treeline. It was a quick 3km to warm beers in the parking lot! I’d do this one again. Not this year though. " — ivo • Jul 30, 2022
"An interesting day, chosen due to smoke and suffering from a sore knee of late. Went with a CSMC trip, along the way we picked up a random along the trail and then lost the trail approaching the col and scrambled up some loose stuff. Lots more loose stuff along the main route up the ridge, as others have said a helmet is a great idea here. After stopping at the archway for a photo, the hiker we picked up was climbing down from the arch and decided to toss his bag for extra mobility. The bag ended up rolling through the archway and all of the way down the sheer north face of Tyrwhitt never to be seen again. Summited and had to give the guy a lift back to calgary as he had no keys or wallet in order to get home. Even though this is a short hike, recommended just for the arch itself. "Wanted to see how good some of my friends were at scrambling so Tyrwhitt seemed perfect for a short, but steep day. Nice views from the top, but make sure you have helmets for rockfall! " — snowsurfer • Aug 10, 2017
"I'm glad there wasn't anyone above me, with all that loose rubble...Helmet recommended. Hiked up to the col with my wife and she relaxed in the sunshine for an hour while I summited and returned." — PaulHoch • Jul 24, 2016
