"Beautiful crisp fall day out in Lovell Canyon to bag a couple peaks with my honey and Daisy the dog. Gorgeous views from First Creek Overlook of Red Rock NCA to the east and Pahrump Valley to the west. " — maggielynn • Dec 11, 2023
"Roasting pit and first creek overlook were decent enough . So was the traverse over to oak creek overlook . Everything else after that was horrible. Tons of thick brush , super loose and steep. Coming down oak creek overlook was the worst. I replaced the register on peak 4 as it had pretty bad water damage. I copied the names over . Had a ziploc for it too so hopefully this one lasts a bit longer . " — joshortman • Jun 7, 2023
"After yesterday's epic hike to El Bastardo, a few of us were quite tired and sore and were thankful for what was supposed to be an easy day. We parked at the large parking area where Forest Road 540 starts, at Lovell Canyon Road. We hiked the road for a while, then gained The Roasting Pit's West Ridge, which seemed extra hard to our sore bodies. After a short break at the top, we descended the NW slope, crossed the road and started up the SW ridge of Peak Four, which we followed all the way up. Somehow, this one seemed easier. We took another break at the top, descended the West ridge and made our way back to the dirt road, which we hiked back to the cars. We picked up a ton of garbage on the way back that people had used as target practice. :(" — Kevin • Feb 4, 2018
"Did a (mostly) lollipop loop from Lovell Canyon Rd. to The Roasting Pit, then down and over to Peak Four, then back to the vehicles.
Beautiful day. (Too warm for February, though...) Great people. :)" — psychikingjes • Feb 4, 2018
