"May 9, best weather you could imagine. I walked from the Seatoller bus station southwards on the route west of the Seathwaite Fell to bag Scafell Pike. The other peaks could be bagged on the descent tour. At the "Great End" you have marvellous views in all directions." — markorothe • May 9, 2025
"Today completed my Winter Wainwrights Challenge - 214 hills to be completed within the winter months, December 21st to March 20. Managed it with 20 days spare despite the many interruptions by builders, family, work, weather, etc." — johnandsue4fun • Feb 27, 2023
"22/11/2022 Scafell Pike via a slightly roundabout route from Langdale. Visibility not very good despite the promising forecast but it did remain dry. Snow above 2500’ but not enough to be any trouble. Usual crowds on the summit as shown in the only photo taken today. A good walk." — johnandsue4fun • Nov 22, 2022
"The weather was brilliant with blue skies, making the views all that more special. We ascended from Thirlmere by the A591. Just a brilliant day all round. This was my 3rd climb of the mountain." — michael-satta • Apr 25, 2021
"With my three children, three of my grandchildren and my brother to celebrate my 80th birthday. From the National Trust car park just beyond the head of Wast Water by the standard route including wading Lingmell Gill, which had a lot of water in it. Three of us included Lingmell on the descent. Rain initially then clearing up to give good views." — peter43 • Aug 12, 2017
"Went up the crest of Lingmell (very steep). Stopped for lunch on the second false summit and then realised that the time was after 2pm. So abandoned bagging Lingmell and headed instead across to the col keeping as much height as possible before joining the main path to Scafell Pike. " — NorthernWayfarer • Jun 4, 2017
"A warm summers day, started from Seathwaite in Borrowdale, went up to Styhead tarn via Taylorgill force. From the tarn, we went up the Corridor route to the summit, with great views all of the way. It was a bit busy on the summit." — davidlong • Jul 3, 2011
"From the NT car park in Wasdale. Took the Moses Trod path up by Sprinkling Tarn to Esk Hause, then over Great End and the other Pikes of Scafell to the highest point in England. Descent via the path to Wasdale via Mickledore. With IB and TM. Rain and hill-fog all day." — marktrengove2 • Jun 19, 1999
"From the Wasdale campsite, via Lingmell Gill, descending to the valley again via Mickledore. With IB and TM. Took the wrong descent off Scafell Pike, correcting with compass work. Rain and hill-fog most of the day, clearing to sunshine later." — marktrengove2 • Jul 18, 1998
"Leading a party of boys from the King's School, Chester. From Troutal YH walked to Cockley Beck and along path up Moasdale. Made own way down from top of Lingcove Beck (some pleasant deep pools) and straight to Cam Spout. There are small paths in parts. Up path to Mickledore. Deep snow on final slope. Then to summit of Scafell Pike. Continued to Scafell." — peter43 • Apr 13, 1962
