"I headed towards the coast, that place where the four elements—water, earth, air, and fire (the sun)—tend to combine beautifully, especially on a sunny day.
The ocellated lizards seemed to think the same, appearing along the paths and startling some hikers.
These hills were covered in flowers of every color, and people seemed to be thoroughly enjoying the natural park. Some were swimming and sunbathing, while others of us headed up the mountain in search of views and a bit of adventure.
After reaching the top of the 159-meter peak, I found a quiet spot and ate something while watching the seagulls glide effortlessly.
I also spotted a few rabbits among the bushes growing on the dunes." — franciscobirruezo • Mar 22, 2026
"The weather has been lovely lately, so I head to Calblanque Natural Park. To my surprise, I find many people swimming at the beach or hiking in the area. I follow the GR-92 west, parallel to the various beaches and coves, until near Cabezo de la Fuente the path begins to climb steeply. As I sweat on the ascent, I think about the swim I'll take later in one of the coves before lunch.
The vegetation has grown quite a bit, and some dwarf palms narrow the path as I approach my goal for today.
From the summit, I can see the salt flats and fossilized dunes in the distance, and a Zodiac boat sailing towards Cartagena at sea. I thoroughly enjoy this natural paradise where the sea and the mountains meet." — franciscobirruezo • Nov 1, 2025
"
I started the route from inside the Calblanque Natural Park taking the GR92 long-distance path in the direction of Cala Parreño, next to this cove the path ascends rapidly looking for a col. The views are beautiful and the mountains are full of palm hearts and some specimens of pines. The Cabezo de La Fuente is on our right while the path continues winding through the bushes. I ate at the top while the hottest hours passed, when I descended I took the opportunity to take a bath in one of the many corners that this coast has." — franciscobirruezo • Apr 30, 2023
"A very hot day around here, we decided to go to the coast. Near Los Belones there is a fountain from where we started the route, at the beginning it is a track in good condition, but near the hill you lose thññe path on a hillside full of parched bushes and palm trees. Soon I will scratch myself with a split branch, it is the problem of the short pants. When we reached the top, I took the opportunity to wash the wound while we contemplated some deserted coves by the sea. Three people bathe in there below in an infinite sea." — franciscobirruezo • Sep 24, 2018
