"I wanted to hit some higher peaks Today, but was feeling a little under the weather, so I looked for something close by, something we hadn't done yet. When you hike/climb as much as we do, that's difficult to do !! There was a spot height of an area called Painted Rocks, in one of the nearby parks, I added it here and decided to go grab it. To start off with, we followed the usual trail to Blue Mountain (Charleston Lake Provincial Park). "My Dad wanted to do a short local hike, but wanted to do something new that we hadn't done before. So we decided to attempt a bushwhack to a high point near Blue Mountain - It was a rewarding decision. We discovered some very nice areas that are off the beaten path, and getting to the summit was fairly easy. Some rock scrambling was involved near the summit.
We paid a visit to Huckleberry Hollow on the way down, this was a very nice spot to visit." — RangersApprentice • Mar 11, 2017
